Tonight Show Twitter Tracker
June 3, 2009 by Jeff Parsons · Leave a Comment
Conan O’Brien took over the Tonight Show this week and besides being on an hour earlier and getting new digs in Los Angeles that are reminiscent of the Carson set, not much with him has changed. I still think Conan is 100% funnier than Leno ever was.
This bit however wasn’t one of his better ones. Just a monster truck like voice guy shouting cute Twitter puns for their supposed “Tonight Show Twitter Tracker” segment, while Conan pleads that all the hype isn’t necessary. A comment on the sudden popularity of Twitter I guess. Eh. Hope it get better from here Conan. Check out the clip below.
Demi Twitpics Her Toothless Smile

Proving how celebrities are real people too with all the flaws of us common folk, Demi Moore posted a picture of herself at her dentist about to have a missing tooth replaced. Granted she can easily pay to have this work done by the most skilled dentistry in the world, but nonetheless she demonstrates to the twitterverse that she has no problem showing a side of herself you wouldn’t see elsewhere.
So now we’ve seen Demi’s butt and missing tooth all thanks to Twitter. I can only imagine what’s next.
I know I’ve been critical of Ashton and Demi on Twitter before. I will say however that of all the celebrities on Twitter these two embrace what you can do with the service better than most.
They choose to shart their private lives, showing that they are real people, rather than simply broadcast what their next big project is or pimp their website. Are you listening @britneyspears?
Elizabeth Taylor Loves Twitter
May 25, 2009 by Jeff Parsons · Leave a Comment
Talk about teaching an old dog new tricks. 77-year-old actress Elizabeth Taylor has jumped on the Twitter bandwagon.
She’s currently hospitalized for what is being called a “routine visit,” but is just fine. She does have internet access however, and has been using Twitter to try to get Kathy Ireland to smuggle her dog in:
“@kathyIreland Thanks Darling for the beautiful flowers and all the prayers. Now can you just get my puppy past hospital security. Love”
Is Taylor the oldest person to use Twitter? Probably not. For a while the world thought @IvyBean104 was the oldest Twitter user until it was speculated that it was all just a hoax.

David Letterman’s Twitter “Rant”
April 26, 2009 by Jeff Parsons · Leave a Comment
Why can’t David Letterman get a weekly 10pm show instead of that no talent Leno? I think his level of comedy is so much higher than Leno’s.
Take for example his recent “rant” about the Twitter craze. He totally makes fun of it even going to the point of SAYING he’s making fun of it like everyone else because he doesn’t understand it.
Still amazes me that with talent like this, he got screwed over by NBC all those years ago.
Breakup over Twitter??? Come on now!
March 23, 2009 by Fred Abaroa · Leave a Comment
So the latest Word On The Tweet is the breakup between John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston. Apparently John was too busy to call Jen back but not too busy to twitter. Hmmmmmm Well Jen, if you really want him Tweet it. Nothing says love like a tweet. She ought to know by now there are plenty of MILT (Mothers I’d Like To Tweet) out the getting the attention of tweeps every where. Let’s take a look at some of John Mayers, “oh I just have to tweet this before I call Jen” Tweets:
- I don’t care what anyone else says, I call him Clive Owens and I like it.
- Life is like walking through a funhouse. It’s dark, people are pushing, and you can’t turn around. You just follow the cracks of light.
- The night I landed there after coughDROPPINGOUTcough I wondered if I was out of my mind. I am, but it worked. RT @Marcelina88 What happened?
- Once, for about 30 minutes back in May of ‘98, the night I moved to Atlanta. RT @Sus_eQ do you ever regret your career choice?
- Sometimes I think “Do you know where those songs have been?” RT @roseadam do you ever wonder what other artists are doing with your songs?
- @Alexandrahhh I should read what the tabloids say I did each week and then go out and actually do them! Like a Cheesedick’s Almanac.
- No. I have a hard enough time living up to my own image, let alone others’ of me. RT @cressesgirl22 but do you read articles about yourself?
- RT @Twirrim I get neurotic enough listening to me doing my own stuff. Listening to others cover would cripple me with self-recrimination
- Because I still can’t believe that my songs are known by others. RT @GabrielleWhite that’s interesting. why do you get embarrassed?
- No. I get embarrassed. Can’t explain it. RT @lisminusa do you ever youtube search yourself to watch other musicians do covers of your songs?
- Let it be said again, DMB’s ‘Under The Table and Dreaming’ is a melodic tour de force. It’s insane.
and of course my favorite:
- How many megapixels are my eyes?
Face it Jen anyone wondering how many megapixels are his eyes may not be the best match for you.
Jimmy Fallon – @jimmyfallon
March 20, 2009 by Jeff Parsons · Leave a Comment
There are celebrities on Twitter that have accounts just because it’s the in thing to do these days, and there are celebrities on Twitter who have accounts because they actually enjoy using it. Jimmy Fallon (@jimmyfallon) definitely enjoys tweeting.
As the new host of Late Night, Fallon has plenty to say in the twitterverse. Unlike many other celeb tweeps who have “their people” do the tweeting for them, this really is Fallon. He appeared recently on an episode of Diggnation mentioning how much he enjoys Twitter. (and to plug his new Late Night gig)
He’ll tweet about things on Late Night:
Ting Tings sing “That’s Not My Name” tonight. Love them. Kardashians funny as well. OnLateNight nbc after leno. (if you didn’t know already)
Can’t forget Bill Paxton he was super cool. We went kindof all over the place with the interview but – he was a good sport
Post pictures via Twitpic:
@Julie_Boswell yes, now at Rachel Ray – then back to 30 rock. http://twitpic.com/26nc9
Get the hotline to a radio station to call in for an interview:
@LIVE105 again – what number do I call? You’re not making it easy. Thanks.
He’ll even tweet about his dental issues:
Chipped my front tooth. Just got it laser bonded. I can now bite through steel. (only with the one tooth)
Fallon seems to be very generous with his replies too. Not always as easy thing to do when you have nearly 400,000 followers as of this writing.
Jimmy Fallon gets what Twitter is about. Too many celebrities miss the opportunity to interact with their followers, and instead use their twitter account as just another way to broadcast themselves. Will Late Night with Jimmy Fallon have a long run like Letterman and Conan before him? Who knows. Whichever way it goes for Fallon, he’s bound to be tweeting the whole time.
